The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy says 25 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours after receiving authorization and under the coordination and security protection of the IRGC Navy.
econews. In a statement carried by Sepah News on Saturday, the force said the vessels transited the strategic waterway safely with the IRGC Navy overseeing security arrangements.
The statement added that the “smart control” of the Strait of Hormuz remains firmly in place despite insecurity caused by what it described as the aggression of the “terrorist US army” in the strait.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, linking the Persian Gulf to international waters.
The United States has blockaded the strait in the wake of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, which was launched on February 28 with the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the deadly strike on a primary school in Minab, southern Iran.
